Making Room for What We Know

Some questions stay with us for years. They appear in the stories we tell, the choices we make, and the conversations we return to with people we trust.

What did I inherit that I want to keep? What am I ready to leave behind? What do I know now that I couldn’t have said aloud at 30?

Those questions have lived in my writing for a long time. Lately, I’ve wanted to take them beyond the page and make space to explore them together. That desire became The Knowing Room.

The Knowing Room is a conversation space for women who have lived long enough to know some things—and remain curious enough to know there is more to discover.

I chose knowing because it holds more than certainty. It holds experience, intuition, family knowledge, hard-won lessons, and the moment we find words for something we have felt all along. And I chose room because none of us needs another place where we’re expected to arrive with a polished answer. We need space to think, listen, laugh, reconsider, and tell the truth about where we are.

Here, we’ll talk about identity, reinvention, relationships, ambition, loss, joy, aging, and becoming. Some of those conversations will begin with an essay. Others will happen live, with women bringing their own stories and questions into the room. I want the format to grow from the conversations themselves.

The Knowing Room grew out of my life as an author and storyteller, but it isn’t a place where you have to know my books to belong. Your experiences matter here. So does your curiosity about what comes next.

We’ll begin with questions worth sitting with:

What did you inherit that you’re keeping?
What are you leaving behind?
What do you know now that you couldn’t have said at 30?

I don’t expect us all to answer them the same way. That’s part of why I want to gather.

The first conversation is taking shape. If this sounds like a room you’d return to, I’d love for you to come in.

Join The Knowing Room and receive the first invitation.
